On Friday 11th October, 25 young people from Dovedale, Northfield and Parkway were lucky enough to be able to visit the Houses of Parliament.Â

Although it was a long coach journey, experiencing the amazing building, hearing about the important work that happens there, and meeting Laurence Turner (the MP for Birmingham Northfield) were all excellent rewards for the travel time! For some of the students, it was their first time in London, and we made sure to take time to look at the Thames and the London Eye, as well as some of the landmarks we drove past.
Everyone on the trip impressed staff with their conduct, their questions to the MP, and their engagement with the workshop on how petitions to the government work. Laurence was so pleased to meet us, and we hope to welcome him to visit James Brindley soon. Overall, it was an excellent day – many thanks to pupils and staff for making it so!
