Building Bonds and Breaking Limits: The Gym Reaper’s Heartwarming Day with Parkway Students

On February 21st, 2024,  Parkway hosted a special event this week. We had the privilege of welcoming “The Gym Reaper,” aka Josh Baker, a popular social media influencer. He conducted an exclusive session and meet-and-greet with our Year 10-11 Parkways pupils! 💼

This event began when Bradley Whitmore, a Year 11 student, sought assistance from our Pastoral Manager, Rossco, feeling emotionally disoriented. Bradley, an admirer of the Gym Reaper, reached out to me for support. In response, I reached out the Gym Reaper on a whim not expecting much. 

In a heartwarming turn of events, the Gym Reaper conveyed his well wishes to Bradley through a personalised video message, expressing hope for Bradley’s swift recovery. Rossco captured this interaction, which brought profound joy to Bradley.

In a gesture of generosity, the Gym Reaper extended his support to our James Brindley Parkway community. He provided our young pupils with exclusive Gym Reaper T-shirts, a meet-and-greet opportunity, autographed merchandise, as well as supplementary provisions such as protein cookies, bars, and energy drinks.

The afternoon was a great time of camaraderie, genuine smiles, laughter, and unforgettable moments. A special thanks to the Gym Reaper for supporting our students, especially in our SEMH school. Together, we’re working to create an inclusive and empowering atmosphere where every young person can thrive. 🌟 Gym Reaper, your commitment to enriching our students’ lives is highly valued.
