Parents & Carers

All our pupils are allocated a form team and a key worker.  The key worker is the member of staff who will have the most contact with the pupil’s parent or carer.  At Dovedale we build strong relationships with our pupils’ families and work together, collaboratively to meet their needs.  Parents and carers are invited in formally once a term for a review.  One of these reviews will be an annual review of their Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP) and the other two reviews are Plan, Do, Reviews (PDRs).  These are used to review personal and educational targets set for the pupils and to also review the personalised strategies used.  

We also use Class Dojo to communicate with parents and carers.  This enables us to celebrate successes and achievement throughout the school day using posts and pictures of activities.  It also allows parents and carers to communicate very easily with the key worker.


We are currently undergoing assessment from the National Autistic Society in order to achieve their accreditation.  Part of their process is to gain feedback from our parents and carers.  We would appreciate as many of you taking part as possible.  Please take part by using the following link.
