Please be aware that whilst the topic areas will in all likelihood remain the same, they may not be taught in the order given.  This is because it may be necessary to revisit topics, revise skills and adjust the curriculum to pupil ability and previous knowledge and understanding.

 How is the course assessed

Pupils are regularly assessed by the teacher in all four skill areas, speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Pupils peer assess each other’s speaking and written when appropriate.

 How can you support your child at home

Ask your child what vocabulary they have been learning and ask them to teach you.  This is a great way for them to consolidate what they have been learning in school and also will boost their confidence!

The school subscribes to Linguascope, an interactive MFL website with lots of games and activities. School can provide your child with the password so that it can be accessed at home.

 How is the course assessed

Pupils are assessed at the end of each topic in all four skills; speaking, listening, reading and writing and translation.  All skills are equally weighted.

Each FCSE assessment comes in 3 levels; pass, merit and distinction.  The teacher, in discussion with the pupil, will decide on the appropriate level.

 

How can you support your child at home
