Curriculum
Short Term Provision (STP) is available for a time limited period to pupils across Key Stages Foundation to KS4.
Our teachers liaise with the pupil's home school, to ensure work is provided whilst the young person is accessing James Brindley School.
Teachers provide support and guidance to individuals, so that they are able to continue on their current educational pathway.
A pupil who is receiving STP from James Brindley School will have a teaching timetable that is bespoke to their individual needs and curriculum requirements. We aim to offer lessons from a wide range of subject areas which will be allocated according to demand, based on discussion with all parties involved, including: pupils; parents; home schools; as well as other professionals that may be working involved in the process. Whilst core subjects will be prioritised, pupils will be able to choose other subjects that will support them with their education during their time away from their home school.
Home schools are expected to be directly involved in the home teaching process by providing curriculum information and work that will directly support their pupils throughout their absence. This will then be taught by specialist teachers or teaching assistants from James Brindley, who will aim to ensure that pupils have some level of consistent learning and continue to make progress within a learning environment.
