Results Day Arrangements - 2021

Please see below all the arrangements for the GCSE results day on 12th August 2021

Dear Young Person, Parents and Carers

With the removal of Summer 2020 exams, teachers at James Brindley have been working hard to complete Teacher Assessed Grades and this has now been submitted to exam boards. We have used a full range of available evidence when grading and you will have had opportunity to see what was used to confirm your grade. Unfortunately, due to the rules stated by Ofqual we are unable to share this result with you until 12th August 2021.

Exam boards have only received this data after we have completed moderation and standardisation within the school, they have also conducted sampling within some subjects to ensure there is accuracy of grading. If you have had any reasonable adjustments, access arrangements and special considerations this would have been applied by your teacher during your assessment prior to sending grades to the exam board.

We are pleased to invite you to a Leavers Celebration and Results Day (Thursday 12th August 2021), where there will be an opportunity to meet with some staff and friends whilst collecting your exam results and reflecting on your education and celebrate your results.

We are providing street food on results day to help with the celebration. The Leavers Celebration and collection of results will start at 10am – 2pm on Thursday 12th August.

Social distancing rules may be in place during this time, we are limiting the number of people at the gathering so you are only able to bring two people with you and we encourage you to take personal responsibility for wearing a mask.

If you are unable to attend on the 12th August, you are also able to collect your results in these ways:

  • Somebody else collecting ‐ If someone is collecting on behalf of the pupil, they must bring a letter signed by the pupil giving them permission to obtain them along with proof of ID.
  • Results by Post ‐ Results will be posted to all pupils who do not collect them, but they will not arrive until after the results day.
  • Results over email or telephone ‐ If you would like to receive your results via email or telephone you should email the Exams Team, ( by 12pm on Monday 11th August 2021.

The Examinations Officer, Careers Team, Pastoral team will be available on results day to answer any queries you have regarding results or your next steps. Please email urgent queries to
