Dovedale Centre Closure (COVID-19)

Dovedale will be closed from 16th October due to a confirmed case of Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Dear Parents/Carers

Confirmed Case of Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Dovedale Centre

We have just been made aware this evening that a member of staff has tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). In consultation with Public Health England guidance, as each Centre is classed a “bubble”, all pupils and staff at your child’s Centre, Dovedale, are required to self-isolate for 14 days. This period of isolation coincides with the half-term break, and therefore your child will be expected to complete this isolation at home until Wednesday 28th October 2020.

Your child will be expected to return to school as normal on Monday 2nd November 2020. If your child is on school transport, this will recommence on this date.

In accordance with guidance, other household members do not need to self-isolate unless they subsequently develop symptoms.

Please may I remind you of the most common symptoms of COVID-19; these are:

●     new continuous cough and/or

●     high temperature and/or

●     a loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)

If your child develops any of these symptoms, they should remain at home and arrangements should be made for them to be tested.  Please also inform us of this.  At that time all other household members must also stay at home, not go to work, school or public areas, even for exercise.

Upon reopening on Monday 2nd November, if your child needs to be tested for coronavirus (Covid-19) they must not return to school, even if they feel better, until the negative test result has been received; this is in line with Government guidance - https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing-and-tracing/what-your-test-result-means/:

A negative result means the test did not find coronavirus.

Testing can be arranged by calling 119 or via the NHS website: nhs.uk/coronavirus

It is our intention for most lessons to be delivered live at the timetabled time from Monday next week.  Ms Parry will send further communication to you tomorrow about the plans for next week.

Thank you for your continued support in helping to keep everyone within our school community safe.

Yours faithfully

Tosin Gabriel
Vice Principal – Head of Parkway, Northfield and Dovedale Centres
