Wall of Sound at KS3
The Wall of Sound 2.0 is an updated and improved version of the original Wall of Sound installation at Dovedale.
The new version has been designed and created by pupils at KS3 centre in Northfield with the help of the Computing Department.
The system uses a Bare Conductive Touchboard programmed with a Midi keyboard, and features over 100 different instruments. The image was created by pupils based on the drip painting style of Jackson Pollock. Twelve of the black paint ‘drips’ are painted with special ‘electric paint’ that is conductive to touch, these 12 notes can then be used to create sounds and music.
Special thanks to KS3 pupils for the design, Bob Thacker for the programming and Dale for helping fit the installation in time for Christmas!
